If you haven't been fishing the San Juan during this last couple of weeks, you are missing out!

We have been catching some truly large trout on black and natural colored leeches fished under indicators on 9-foot rigs with size BB split shots. Float your leech through the deeper runs, mending often to make the leech jump in the water. If you hang up briefly on the bottom, throw a big mend down-stream to get the weight off the bottom, then mend the line back behind the indicator to continue the drift. (You will get many of your strikes as soon as the leech comes off the bottom).

A 6-foot rig with a size 1 shot using a small black bunny leech followed by a red midge larvae has been picking up lots of fish as well and some big ones too.

Give us a call for winter specials.

What is the best lodge to stay at in Glacier National Park for a long weekend?
I'm planning on flying to Glacier Ntnl Park in later September / early October. I want to stay at a lodge that is near a lot of the 'must see' sites and hiking. Hopefully something romantic as well (going as a couple, don't need family friendly).

I want to say it's Lake Mary or maybe Lake McDonald Lodge as you come in the Park through West Glacier. Beautiful Place.
