Below is an announcement for our public meetings (2 of them) coming up in August. One is our normal operations meeting, the other is a special evening meeting where we will discuss the 2016 spring peak release specifically. I'll probably post a reminder a week or so prior to the meetings.

Reclamation will be conducting two public meetings in the month of August. Both will be held at the Farmington Civic Center, 200 West Arrington, in Farmington, New Mexico.
August 23rd 1pm: Navajo Operations August Coordination Meeting
This meeting is held three times annually to discuss the upcoming forecast and operations for the coming water year and beyond. The meeting agenda will include a review of operations and hydrology since April, current soil and water supply conditions, a discussion of hydrologic forecasts and planned operations for the remainder of this water year as well as planned operations for water year 2017, updates on maintenance activities, and the Recovery Program on the San Juan River. Additionally there will be short presentations from the US Army Corps of Engineers and Reclamation’s Technical Service Center on the channel hydraulics and capacity downstream of the dam.
August 23rd 6pm: Navajo Reservoir 2016 Spring Peak Release Operations
This is a special meeting geared towards discussion of this year’s Spring Peak Release. The agenda will include a recap of 2016 Spring Peak Operations, a discussion of flood risk management and safe channel capacity, the nature of sedimentation and bank erosion in the San Juan River Basin, and floodplain risk issues. The meeting will include talks and representation from several agencies, including Reclamation, US Army Corps of Engineers, Fish and Wildlife Service, and San Juan County, New Mexico, Office of Emergency Management. There will be opportunities for questions, comments, and discussion with the public during the meeting.
