Five star Duke commit Jalen Johnson has decided to spend his senior season in Florida playing for IMG Academy.

The Wisconsin combo forward announced his decision to transfer from Milwaukee WI Nicolet High to the Florida powerhouse via his social media accounts on Monday night.

First off I want to thank https://www.dukebluedevilsjersey.com/frank-jackson-jersey-c-8.html Nicolet for an amazing year and welcoming my family and I with open arms, wrote Johnson. Nicolet will always have a special place in my heart but with that being said, Im excited to announce that next year I will be attending IMG Academy.
By transferring to IMG, Johnson will have a chance to team up with current Duke target, Virginia center Mark Williams who announced his transfer from his Richmond area home to the program last month.

Johnson is considered the nation s No. 4 overall recruit according to 247Sports.com Composite rankings and the seventh best player regardless of position according to 247Sports.com. At 6 foot 8 and 215 pounds, Johnson projects as a combination forward once he gets to Duke and the ability to mix it up against the nation s top prospects was one of the main reasons he decided to make the move according to his father.

The main reason we did this is because we want Jalen prepared for when he goes to Duke, said Jalen s father https://www.dukebluedevilsjersey.com/marques-bolden-jersey-c-9.html, Rod Johnson in an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Every day he ll go to school, work on his game and be around like minded people who are playing at a high level just like he is.

As a prospect, Johnson s overall skillset and physical gifts had long made him one of the most highly sought after players in the country. Per 247Sports.com s director of basketball scouting, Jerry Meyer Ryan Kelly Jersey, the future Blue Devils has the look of a player who won t be playing too much college basketball over the next few seasons.
Johnson has great size for such a highly skilled player and is a smooth athlete, wrote Meyer when providing the prospect s summer evaluation for the network. He has the frame to fill out nicely. There s room for improvement in foot quickness, but he has complete skill set with high basketball IQ and top notch court vision as a passer. Johnson has a high release jumper with range. Loves to go left. Passes well off dribble. Quality rebounder. Can improve as a defender. Tremendous talent with upside. Trending towards lottery pick status.

Since committing to Duke over a final list which included North Carolina, Arizona, and UCLA, Johnson has been vocal about his recruiting efforts of other elite players. The Blue Devils, of course, face another season in which landing a huge recruiting class is more of a necessity as Duke could lose several members of the projected 2019 2020 rotation.

At the recent Team USA camp in Colorado Springs, Johnson elaborated on his efforts.

I ve been recruiting DJ Steward, Mark Williams, and Walker Kessler. ... Those are the main three, said Johnson. There s a lot of recruiting going on here.

Now, he ll be teammates with Williams at IMG and has a long established relationship with Steward.

Yeah were good friends https://www.dukebluedevilsjersey.com/matt-jones-jersey-c-7.html, Steward told TheDevilsDen.com s Steve Clark. Hes really down to earth and hes a great guy who is very unselfish. Hes great to be around. Hes on me every single day, he was even talking with me a lot to come down to his room here at camp to hang out a lot.
Four star center prospect Mark Williams has announced a final list of seven schools from which he will ultimately make his college decision. The 7 foot 1 Virginia prospect took to social media on Saturday night to share the news.
