Lodge and Resolution Guide Service
owned and
operated by Steve Gill and is located on the banks of the San Juan
River, just downstream from the town of Navajo Dam, New Mexico. We are
the only lodge on the banks of the river in the public water
area. From our lodge you can walk out the back gate and have
access to over 6 miles of the San Juan River with uninterrupted access
and no rod fees. What could be better than a little dry fly action out
your back door after a memorable dinner? We are also the only lodge in
the area offering an extensive choice of other rivers and creeks in the
area to fish as well as Navajo Lake for bass, pike and carp. We are the
only lodge in the area to have a professionally trained Chef on
property. Put all this together with one of the most experienced guide
staffs on the river and you'll see why we are the only call you want to
make.
LODGING:
One of the newest lodges on the banks of the San Juan River and
completely re-done in Jan '03. We offer wonderful accommodations, each
suite has two bedrooms, private bath, couches and recliner chairs,
satellite television, dry bar, minifridge and in-room phones. Each
suite sleeps four people very comfortably, they are easily the nicest
rooms on the river.

SERVICE:
We offer some of the rivers top guides! Our guides are all full time
river guides, what that means to you is you'll get the benefits of
fishing with a guide that fishes local waters 200+ days a year. We
offer guided float and wade trip on the San Juan and lower San Juan. We
are also the only lodge in the area with permits in Colorado to guide
on 9 other rivers and creeks. We also have the only full time guide
that is a licensed US Coast Guard Captain offering guided fishing on
Navajo Lake for bass, pike and carp. Day trips to other area rivers and
creeks, a chance to hit the lake for topwater bass and pike action, all
are just a few of your choices as a change of pace from there main

Our Guest House Suites conveniently
accommodate the most serious angler. The San
Juan River
is almost within casting distance of our waterfront
cabins. Each guesthouse has wader racks and rod racks, both
indoor and
outdoor. The cabins also have Satellite TV, telephones,
kitchenettes with
full size refrigerators, microwaves, cups and drink tumblers, dishes,
lounge
chairs, patio with patio furniture... and a beautiful view of the San Juan River.
For your convenience we have a
first class restaurant and conference center game room. We

your experience, offering Simms, Patagonia

more. We off course have all the killer fly patterns hand
tied by our
guides. You may also obtain your New Mexico
fishing license right in our fly shop. We,
also have rod, reel and wader rentals available for your convenience.
Guide
Service: Soaring Eagle Outfitters, Inc. has a world class
guide service.
The guides have been selected on fishing ethics, river knowledge and
professionalism.
The guides are CPR and First Aid certified, and are highly experienced. Soaring
Eagle requires all their guides have
at least 10 year experience fishing the San Juan
before service is contracted to ensure you fish
with the best! We
may also arrange for
your convenience guided fishing on Navajo
Lake
or other rivers in Southwest
Colorado.
Fight
Fish, Not People: Soaring Eagle Lodge has special access
waterfront privileges to approximately 2 miles of the San Juan River.
This is not in the “public” section of the river
but truly private… the fish in this area are primitive and
wild. Large
brown trout are not uncommon in this section of the river. We
limit this
fishing to 6 lucky angler per day. Restriction on the ranch
provides you
with solitude so you don't have to fight the crowds of this world class
fishery
but prior reservation is required. |

Guide Service, has recently
purchased Rizuto’s San Juan River Lodge in the center of the
town of Navajo Dam. Those of you who have fished with Fisheads Guide
Service know the quality and the eagerness to please that has made
Fisheads the premier guide service on the San Juan river. That same
quality and service is now available in lodging on the river.
LODGE
Fisheads San Juan River Lodge has eight rooms that will accommodate up
to eighteen people. Each room has been remodeled, and all of them have
32” flat screenTV’s with Direct TV satellite
access, microwave ovens, refrigerators and WiFi access. All of the
bedding is new as are the pillows. Pride is evident everywhere in the
cleanliness and upkeep of each room.
Coming
on line soon will be an accommodation called
“Chuck’s Place” which is a four bedroom
house. The house has a master suite with its own bath, two bedrooms
with queen size beds and one bedroom with a double bed. There is also
another full bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer and a
living room with a futon and a 42” flat screen TV. As with
all of the accommodations, Chuck’s Place is fully air
conditioned. This will be perfect for families, and small groups that
want to stay together.
FLY
SHOP
Also at the Fisheads San Juan River Lodge is an endorsed fully equipped
ORVIS fly shop. In the fly shop, we offer the full line of ORVIS
equipment and accessories. With a minimum $50.00 order, anything you
order from us will be shipped to you for free. The fly selection we
offer at the shop is second to none on the San Juan. They are custom
tied flies specifically for the San Juan and its unique hatches. You
can also get up to date information on the river and its hatches so you
know what bugs are hatching and what flies are working as soon as you
get here. No wasting time trying to figure out what’s going
on your first day. Start right off with the correct flies and catching
those famous San Juan River trout. You will find our staff very
knowledgeable and eager to help and share their experience and
knowledge of the river.
RESTAURANT
By the end of July, we will have our restaurant, “The
Backcast Cafe” open
for your dining pleasure. The restaurant will bring great food prepared
by Chef Josh Mesker, a graduate of Johnson Wales Culinary School, to
the town of Navajo Dam. Josh will be offering fine dining as well as
lighter fare to satiate your appetite after a great day of fishing on
the river. Until the restaurant opens, we are within easy walking
distance of the two restaurants in the town of Navajo Dam.

San Juan river, received the Orvis Endorsed Guide Service of the Year
