Caddis Larva
Fish deep before and during the hatch!
Hook: Daiichi 1130 or 1510  in size 14-18
Thread: Black 8/0 Uni-thread
Body: Cream or Lt Tan Dubbing (Squirrel)
Thorax: Olive Dubbing (Squirrel)
Head: Small Brass Bead
Rib: Fine Gold Wire
Instructions:
  1. Slip small brass bead on hook and place in vice
  2. Secure thread behind bead and  wrap back to just before bend while securing fine wire for rib.
  3. Dub a tapered cream body 3/4 length and leave slightly buggy .
  4. Wrap gold rib forward, secure and trim behind bead.
  5. Finish the thorax with a lightly spun, very buggy   dubbing with lots of guard hairs.  The more leggy, the better.
  6. Whip finish behind bead and carfully cement.
Variations: Try without bead for some picky fish.  Best colors are cream with brown head, gray with dark olive head, brown with black head, and light olive with dark olive head.  An easy, but deadly pattern.
